Hier der Auktionstext, damit man mit dem Thread etwas anfangen kann :

This is a replacement input shaft seal for all segways gearboxes. It is made of viton which is used in high quality automobile applications. The original Segway input shaft seal is made of standard rubber. The problem is that the electric motors turn at speeds up to 8000 rpm which causes too much heat on the gearbox input shaft and it will start to leak. The problem is that eventually the gearbox will fail, but prior to that oil is spread inside the Segway case and causes failures of the balance sensor assembly, motors, and circuit boards. The issue is that since the Segway bases are sealed, you will not know until it is too late or by chance if you open up the Segway and find oil on the inside. The seals are as easy to replace as any automotive transmission shaft seal. The first picture is of a transmission with the seal replaced and the second picture is of the replacement viton seal prior to assembly.


Es handelt sich hier um qualitativ hochwertige Ersatz-Dichtungsringe für das Getriebe des Segways.
Ich erinnere mich allerdings nicht, dass ich jemals ein Getriebe mit einem defekten Dichtungsring gesehen habe.

ich auch nicht. Gut es gab zwar ganz wenige undichte Gearboxen aber das Öl lief dann unten raus, niemals in die Base!

Und wirklich stark warm wird da nix.
Die normalen Gasket sind da, dass kein Staub oder Wasser in den Bereich der Elastos/Coupling kommt.
Der Dichtring dichtet die Welle gegen den Hohlraum ab, da hab ich echt noch nie Öl gesehen.

Ist wohl ein "Angstmacheversuch"
